Helmets are indeed the most primary safety equipment for every biker. They do save lot of lives every single year. But, the problem is always for the rescue personnel who are usually the medical assistants. What happens is that when these rescuers come to the spot, it becomes very tough to remove the helmet from the head. In order to prevent this, here comes the solution from Voztec.

The company has produced a 5th generation prototype motorcycle helmet. The helmet is a full face, rear access, dual locking helmet that has several advantages over and above the current state of the art full face helmets. The mechanics of the system are the subject of a patent application and is referred to as the Voztec Safety Release System, which is in fact a registered technology.

Voztec Helmets Pty Limited is wholly owned subsidiary of Voztec Pty Limited, an Australian company and patent holder of a new concept in full face, rear access helmet protection. John Vozzo and Mark Bryant are the inventors of the helmet and together, they are the driving force in the development of the new concept helmet. Voztec commenced the development of a prototype helmet in June 2005.

The Voztec system has been developed by the directors Mr. Mark Bryant and Mr. Johnny Vozzo and is suitable for incorporation into any full face Helmet. The Company intends to incorporate the Voztec system into a selection of helmet products that are robust, meet a market need and can be produced at a sustainable and competitive cost

Shape was one of the main considerations whilst developing the Voztec System, extensive studies concluded that the safest shape helmets are the rounder and smoother shape helmets of the early 1990's. The reason is, the fewer the snag points, the safer the helmet. The current shape and rear access design of the Voztec Helmet has allowed the lower edge of the helmet to be rolled, therefore creating a rounder, smoother, safer shape helmet that fits extremely close to the user's head, creating less snag points than conventional full face helmets.

Countless hours have gone into the development of the current prototype helmet with industry and user feedback being incorporated into further refinements leaving a helmet which is not only revolutionary in design, visually appealing but acceptable to the people that matter most – the end user.

The other significant safety advantages Voztec enjoys over its current competition is the emergency safety release system and the fully adjustable chin cup that replaces the old fashion chin strap. Both of these changes have significantly improved the safety of full face helmets firstly by allowing medical personal access if required to the users head in the case of an accident without having to cut the helmet off (especially useful in remote situations) and secondly the new fully adjustable chin cup is not subject to strap creep.

Patents have been lodged for the Voztec Safety Release System® in key countries, to secure the technology. The company has also registered a trademark "Voztec" whilst the assembly process remains a trade secret.

Hi folks. So, are you all set to get a glimpse of the Yamaha YZF R15 V2.0 which is due for launch day after tomorrow (6th of this month). I’m even more thrilled to cover the launch live from the capital city. Though, we have seen a lot of spyshots of the new version of the existing R15 bike, what makes me curious is the rumour that this bike is gonna produce 22 PS of power. This rumour is however not confirmed by the company.

Yamaha has finally released a small teaser of the R15 V2.0 in its website. Right in the homepage, the words 'Experience a machine re-designed to change your perception of style and design forever.' Then comes the image of the totally covered bike, with just the front wheels visible. Let's get to know more about this bike with a 'Racing Instinct' as I bring the updates live from Delhi. I'm all set to catch my flight to get the first glimpse of the Yamaha YZF – R15 V2.0. Stay with us for more updates.

Importance of Tamilnadu for Bajaj Auto

An official of Bajaj Auto Ltd had mentioned that the continuous hike in interest rates has not impacted the sales of two wheelers in India. According to a recent article in the Business Line, 'On its own, Bajaj Auto Ltd has increased its motorcycle market share in Tamil Nadu, bettering the industrial growth average in the process, according to a senior executive of the company.

The official was also confident that the sales of the latest 150 cc version of Bajaj Boxer, launched exclusively for the rural customers in Coimbatore on Friday, would triple during the Pongal season, before tapering off slightly. Mr Guruprasad Rajarao, Zonal Manager (Motorcycles) for Tamil Nadu and Kerala, told Business Line on the sidelines of the launch that the motorcycles market in Tamil Nadu currently stood at around 79,000 units a month. He expected this to grow to about 1 to 1.1 lakh a month by January next.

Mr Rajarao also said that the compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) for the two-wheeler segment at the national level was around 17 per cent for the past ten years, and Tamil Nadu, with a CAGR of about 16 per cent, was keeping pace. There was potential for the State’s growth rate to touch 20 per cent in a year or so.

To mention the importance of Tamilnadu for Bajaj Auto, he said, "In Tamil Nadu July sales stood at about 79,000 units, of which Bajaj Auto’s share was about 22,000 vehicles, or 27 per cent, compared to 24 per cent earlier in the year. The company expects an increase during August too."

Asked whether Bajaj Auto was eating into competitors’ market share or whether the overall market size was growing, he said Bajaj has "outgrown the industry" and hence its market share had risen. The growth was essentially fuelled by the company’s 'Discover’ brand, which sells about 6,000 units, and the Pulsar brand, which sells about 7,000 units a month in Tamil Nadu. The base brand Boxer made up the rest.

The Bajaj Boxer, which is commonly and rightly referred to as 'Bharat Bike'  has features such as thicker tyres, longer wheel base, longer and wider seats, improved suspension and so on, catering largely to rural clients, while doubling as a goods carrier. He said this bike is virtually 'A SUV on two wheels'. Oh yeah, the new Boxer 150 deserves being called as mentioned above, owing to the fact that it can handle any type of road with high levels of load.
