Here we have a good news for all bike racing enthusiasts in India. The Madras Motor Sports Club track in Irungattukottai, Chennai is likely to become one of the feasible option to host MotoGP, though not now but in some later point of time. This big surprise bomb is dropped by Mr. Amit Arora, General Manager of MMSC operations.

This news comes a little after the country's first Formula One circuit (Buddh International Circuit) at Noida is inaugurated. The MMSC track currently holds a Grade 4 status and all necessary activities would be performed to make this get a Grade 2 status. This would make this track the second most advanced in the sub continent.

According to Bike India, 'MMSC is already in talks with MotoGP promoters, Dorna and racing circuit designers Apex, from UK. The sports club is getting vital information to design a racetrack suited for MotoGP and Formula 2 races.'

The MMSC track is as much as 21 years old and is likely to see vast improvements in the next 3 years. Racers here are asked foe constant feedbacks and ideas to bring it to the international standard. Also, day to day activities which include races taking place here every now and then should not be interference for the forthcoming activities. So, this is the biggest challenge that the team faces right now.

The track is 11 meters wide and has 10 major curves, apart from a number of minor ones. A smaller club circuit of 2.1 kms is also available for shorter events. The main track has three straights, with the longest one being 250 meters. The main circuit is about 3.717 kms long, while the club circuit is 2.067 kms long. The circuit conforms to the two international bodies – the Federation Internationale de Automobile and the Federation Internationale du Motocyliste, who lay down the norms for racing and racing circuits.

Mr. Arora also said, ""The plan is to create a multi-use venue for motorsport, alongside an entertainment area. It will have shopping malls, hotels and restaurants. There will be new paddock buildings and garages. The length of the main straight will be increased and corners will be worked to improve speed." Arora added."

It is really happy to know about this great move. This track has seen many great Indian racers and has set the pace for them to go global at some point of time later. India would soon be seen as the apt place to host many motoring activities in a short span of time.

BikeAdvice wishes the entire team working on this project a great success for the great endeavour.

Regards,
M.Naren.

More 2011 Yamaha YZF R15 Pics

Original Source: More 2011 Yamaha YZF R15 Pics from BikeAdvice.in

The next generation R15 is sure to rock the Indian market. While many had a doubt on what bike it was when we first published the open image, here we put an end to the speculations and confirm its nether not a R15 nor R25, but the upgraded all new R15.

Few teaser images with completely covered body are published in the official R15 page in Facebook. A close observation reveals the small metallic patch along the sexy exhaust with the name R15 written on it.

The rear part of the bike gives it a perfect macho looking sexy bike. There is a big gap between the rear seat and the mud cover on the top of the rear tyre.  The alloys in the wheel are what we published in the first image of it.

Note the two tone co0lour scheme which is depicted in the image. The front half is red in colour and the best part is that the red looks refreshed. The other half is white and looks cool.

The tyres appear to be a bit fatter than the existing model. But looks can also ditch. The end of the exhaust is trendy with a new shape. The front part of the bike hasn't seen much change and actually the fact is that it doesn't need one.

The bike is expected to hit the road by the end of this year. Though, there is not much of details revealed about the engine, we are pretty sure that this bike would produce 22 Ps of power compared with the present 17 Ps. That is what we call a perfect upgrade.

Before ending this write up, I dedicate this post to a reader of ours (Name not disclosed) who had mentioned in one of his comment a month back or so that we post R15 spy images only when we don't have anything else to publish. These images reveal the fact that these are production ready and can be officially announced very soon.

All the images are published here. Take a look at it and comment on the all new 2011 Yamaha YZF R15.

HMC’s New Logo and Tagline

Original Source: HMC's New Logo and Tagline from BikeAdvice.in

Hero MotoCorp's new logo and tagline was revealed in London at the time of unveiling its global identity. We had posted the image of the logo in the previous write up but still here is a clear image of the logo and we will also tell you about the tagline.

The earlier tagline of Hero Honda was 'Dhak Dhak Go' and with the name  change to Hero MotoCorp, the new one is now 'Hum Main Hai Hero' which  just means 'There is a Hero in Every one of us'. There is also a theme song or  a music, which is composed by A.R.Rehman. The company has really shed  out a lot of money to prove itself as a separate company following Honda's  exit.

The new brand, according to Mr Pawan Munjal, Managing Director and CEO,  Hero MotoCorp, epitomises and symbolizes continuity and change.  According to Business Line, 'The new logo stands for the new face of India –    that youthful energy and 'can do’ spirit'. "It is in true sense the Indian catapult, which signals that while it is deeply rooted in Indian values, it is also poised to go for global expansion – a Leap of faith," he said.

Hero had worked with Wolff Olins which is a part of the Omnicom group, to work on the new brand identity and had also engaged Law & Kenneth as a creative partner to give shape to the communication for launching and establishing the new brand.

Also mentioned is the fact that the company’s exports to new markets will be under the Hero name, while those to the existing markets of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Columbia will continue to be under the Hero Honda brand.

The company has also come up with 2 new models. One Off-Road bike and a scooter. Keep watching this space for updates on them. I'll come up with a separate article on these two models.

Thanks to Business Line

M.Naren.

So far, various motorcycle brands across the Globe realized the fact that India is a great market for them and now it's Google which has realised it. Sound annoying right? Go through this complete article and you'll get to know what I mean here.

Google is fast becoming the Indian auto lovers’ favourite haunt when it comes to searching anything and everything related to bikes and cars. A report by the search engine shows that Indian consumers were ahead of their counterparts in the US and Europe in using the Internet to research car and bikes in 2010.

According to Business Line, The report claimed that Web searches related to auto (which includes 2 wheelers too) grew faster than those for travel, consumer electronics and finance. Shopping queries accounted for 49 per cent of all auto-related queries.

The report also revealed that Indians are more research oriented when it comes to auto related purchases, with 65 percent of the Indians using the internet as the first place to do their research. Only 62 per cent of the internet users in mature markets like US and Europe use internet as first stop.

"We have seen over 150 per cent growth in revenues from the auto sector in 2010 and expect the share of auto spends on digital ads to grow significantly in the next few years,"  Mr Rajan Anandan, Vice-President, Sales and Operations, Google India, told reporters here. Online marketing is a Rs 1,000 crore industry, growing at 50 per cent year-on-year, he added.

According to the Google report, mobile searches for auto-related queries grew at over 300 per cent in 2010.

Here is the most interesting part of the report. Bike related queries grew at 96 per cent in 2010, the report said. Here, bikes are classified into Premium and Deluxe bikes. Premium bikes i.e 150 cc plus segment registered 90 per cent year-on-year growth, in terms of query volumes, from January 2010-May 2011, compared to a year-ago period. Deluxe i.e bikes in 125 cc to 150 cc are the fastest growing category registering 193 per cent growth in query volumes.

Greetings! The world of automobiles changes in a fraction of second as every other day there is new news. The piece of news about Hero that we are going to discuss in this news post is probably the one on charts because we recently rolled out a article on a Hero MotoCorp's new spied dirt bike.  Hero Honda who is now Hero MotoCorp has unveiled its new brand identity in London.  The company not only introduced the world to their new brand identity but also to the dirt bike that was spied a few days back.

Hero MotoCorp unveiled their new logo and the dirt bike in presence of stars like Ranbir Kapoor, SRK and Akon. Well with this act of unveiling their brand to the world in presence of different national and international starts confirms that Hero MotoCorp is eyeing for a long term growth in the markets it is planning to enter.  Hero group not only unveiled their new logo and the bike but also a scooter specially targeted at male consumers because of its masculine look.

Hero's new logo has the word Hero In it with Capital H and rest letters being in lower case. Also the company has used red and black colors over white background for their logo which may in some cases remind you of the earlier logo of Hero Honda. Apart from the word Hero written in simple plain language, the logo forms a triangular kind of a formation that looks like an 'H' and it also gives the logo kind off a 3-D look.  All in all the logo of the company looks good and we hope that it adds to the fortune of the company.

Apart from the logo, Hero has signed Ranbir Kapoor as their brand ambassador may be because he represents youth and this is a new start for the company. Also Mr. A.R Rahman has composed a new brand anthem for the company to mark their new start without their Japanese partner Honda.  Well as far as the expectations of the company go, they expect to bag in 1 crore unit sales per annum, of which 10% are presumed as exports.  All in all, the new brand identity, the bike and the scooter were unveiled by Hero MotoCorp in London and the ceremony looked great.  We will have to wait and see if Hero, with their new aspirations and hopes, is able to sustain in the market or not.

Hero MotoCorp has Revealed its Global Identity

Posted: 11 Aug 2011 02:03 AM PDT

Original Source: Hero MotoCorp has Revealed its Global Identity from BikeAdvice.in

Oh wow. I'm really happy to come up with this write up. This is all about Hero MotoCorp which has revealed its new Global Identity yesterday in London. Mr. B M Munjal, the chairman of Hero Group said, "So far all our good products have been credited to Honda.

Now we will show the world our strength." at the unveiling of the company's new brand identity. The statement from the World's largest manufacturer of 2 wheelers seemed really promising and as an Indian I am even more proud to hear it.

The company revealed its new logo here. The name Hero Honda exists no more, but is aptly replaced by Hero MotoCorp. The ultimate reason for the name change was to remove the name Honda following the split between the Japanese two wheeler maker Honda and the India based Hero Group owned by Munjal. The logo was revealed amidst fanfare with the presence of Bollywood stars such as Sharukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma too.

Boris Becker, Former World No. 1 professional tennis player from Germany who is a six-time Grand Slam singles champion and an Olympic gold medallist was invited for the ceremony. David Marshall Coulthard, (popularly known as DC) is a British former Formula One racing driver from Scotland was also invited and was seen in the grand gala. Irfan Pathan represented the India sports community and Hero MotoCorp, now being an Indian company, inviting him was much necessary and is appreciable too. To add glamour element to the ceremony, artists like Akon and Mariah Carrey were also present.

Hero MotoCorp will be setting up a new global parts centre in the state of Rajasthan. Also, the company had announced that it will be soon coming up with 2 new plants in the sub continent. One will be in the Southern part of the country and other in the Western region. But, however the locations were not disclosed. "Our path will be the benchmark," said Mr. Pawan Munjal, Hero MotoCorp (HMC) Managing Director and CEO after about this new venture. He then added, "Hero’s competitors always knew they have made a mistake by being competitors." This statement reflected the confidence in him which is gonna take new heights to the company.  He also mentioned in a lighter note in Hindi, "Hero ko pakadna mushkil hee nahin naamumkin hai," which simply meant 'It's not only tough to catch the Hero but is impossible too'. With the presence of King Khan out there this dialogue from the movie Don just fitted the company perfectly.

When Mr. Munjal wanted to express the potential of the company, he said, "Every 18 seconds HMC rolls out a new two-wheeler. It has two million-plus models in its portfolio. That’s the enormity of the task". Regarding the sales target of the comoany and the export projection, he was clear and confident in telling, "We (Hero MotCorp) are looking at sales target of 10million units next five years. We expect exports to be about 10 per cent of our total sales". Since the company is all set to foray a few of the foreign markets also, this figure was important to understand the depth of the company. He had also mentioned during his speech that the company has studied and identified 30 nations in Latin America, South East Asia and Africa the company to enter and dominate.

The company has also decided to strengthen its Research and Development wing which is the backbone for anu manufacturing company to sustain on the long run. Commenting on this, he said "In five years we will have a world class R&D centre. No baggage to deal with". Also, the best part is that HMC is planning to enter into a tie up with some European firm. Though the agreement between Honda and Hero Group is valid till the year 2014, the company is taking this move. But no details regarding the company and the purpose for a tie up were revealed.

As an ending note, Mr. P Munjal said, "The new brand identity has born out of our desire to break the shackles and realise our potential which were restricted by the nature of our JV with Honda".

He also informed that the company would continue to sell all its existing Hero Honda products in the current portfolio. Hero Moto Corp also revealed two new models in this ceremony. I'll come up with a separate write up regarding the 2 new models.

We, from BikeAdvice wish the Hero MotoCorp a great success in all its new endeavours and make the Indian Biking Community hail the company's success.
