South India based TVS Motor Company today announced its plans of launching four new products during the year 2012, which includes two motorcycles in the executive segment and two scooters.

The company would test market its hybrid scooter, TVS Qube (our readers would have been well aware of this product – Cube whose pictures we had reported right on the first day of the Auto Expo) from June 2012 and plans to initially test market 200 scooters before its commercial launch in the year 2013. The TVS Qube has two sources of power which includes a 100cc four – stroke engine and an electric hub motor. The rider has the option to choose from a range of modes, depending on his or her requirement. This hybrid system charges the battery (which is lithium ion) when the brakes are applied and utilizes this power whenever required, therefore making the most efficient use of the energy available. In addition, this two – wheeler conserves energy when the vehicle halts at a traffic signal or is in standstill condition by halting the power source. (However, Patents are pending for this model).

This scooter also comes with the additional option of electric only with zero fuel (petrol) consumption and zero emissions and can be used for short trips. There is also an engine only mode, which can be used when the battery charge is very low. The TVS Hybrid Scooter also has the options of Hybrid Economy Mode and Hybrid Power Mode. In the economy mode, the engine and electric motor run as per the programmed strategy while in the power mode, both engine and electric engage together for better acceleration.

This green technology delivers significant emission reduction and improved fuel economy in city traffic driving with 35 per cent reduction in CO2 emission, 30% HC + NOx reduction and an increase of 35 per cent in fuel economy. The TVS Hybrid Scooter is therefore expected to deliver a fuel economy of around 70 kilometers in typical city riding conditions.

This product is proof of TVS Motor Company's unwavering commitment to development of green technologies that will lead to substantial reduction in terms of CO2 levels.

TVS Motor Company, in an effort to increase its market share in the growing executive segment and give an option of upgrades to economy segment customers, announced the launch of two motorcycles in this segment.

The new motorcycle brand with 125cc engine capacity mated to a 4 speed gearbox and all features for this segment would be launched in the month of June 2012. The brand would however represent a bold new statement in the executive motorcycle segment. The refined mature design and the comfortable riding position coupled with the smooth responsive engine would make this vehicle a perfect urban mobility solution. Specifically tailor made for the everyday rider, this bike is feature packed and will provide an exciting riding experience and a modern styling.

Here is the biggest good news for the Indian customers. The second motorcycle in this segment is gonna be the re – launch its most popular TVS Victor brand in December 2012. An advanced programmed ignition system that will be deployed in the TVS Victor ensuring best performance in combustion and therefore best in class acceleration and fuel economy. TVS Victor is expected to return high fuel efficiency in typical city riding conditions.

In the growing scooter segment, TVS Motor Company is present with Scooty and Wego. The company now intends to further strengthen its position with launch of a 125cc scooter in December 2012, which will deliver high fuel efficiency in typical city riding conditions.

These new launches will complete the motorcycle portfolio while additional range to the scooter variants would complete the company's product portfolio and increase its market share.

How do you like this news guys. Sounds great, right? We would love to hear your thoughts about this and so kindly post your comments in the form of words below.

Original Source: Yamaha R15 V2.0 Limited Editions Showcased at the Auto Expo 2012 from BikeAdvice.in

Yamaha R15 V2.0 has always been a show – stopper wherever it is kept for display at we don't have to say the amount of attention it would have grasped in the Auto Expo 2012. The bikes were literally glittering owing to its frequent polishing and the lights which were focused onto it.

The R15 V2.0 is presently available in just here colors viz, Racing Blue, Midnight Black and he Sunset Red.  Though the previous version of the bike was available in two other additional color of yellow and white, Version 2 was limited just with 3 colors of skins and that's it.

Yamaha now has a very pleasant good news to all the R15 lovers. The bike is now made available in additional two color schemes and the best part is that both these sexy looking bikes are now part of limited edition series. It always becomes a matter of pride to own bikes which are part of limited editions, right? The two new schemes are Fiery Red, which is jaw – dropping good with all new set of body graphics and the other one being White, which resembles the previous version but looks even more good as it wraps the V2.0.

The Fiery Red scheme is engulfed by fire flame design in form of graphics which begins flowing right from the front fairing and continues its flow till the rear. Brilliant work! Though it lacks the racing instinct in this all new color scheme, I became a big fan of it, the moment I took a look at it in the Yamaha stall in the Auto expo.

Talking about the new White color, it is just stunning in its looks, though it looks simple and humble unlike the other color of this bike. The bike is completely painted in white with just a mild pinch of red stickering here and there without making it a red over – dose. The small rise in seat which appears between the rider's and the pillion seat is coated with red which adds up the gorgeousness of the bike many – folds.

Here is what Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd., said generically about Yamaha in the stall. "Yamaha has always been a committed player in the two-wheeler market and makes consistent efforts to adapt to market demand by launching exciting products year-on-year. The Indian scooter segment is growing tremendously and we see a lot of potential in this segment. We have developed a scooter prototype that has got the Yamaha DNA and signifies "Cool and Beauty" image, which are the right words for describing young Indian girls. With the launch of our scooter model later this year, Yamaha would now be present across all growing 2-Wheeler segments."

“On behalf of India Yamaha family, I extend our gratitude towards our loyal customers and channel partners who have played a key role in our consistent growth in India over the years. We'd like to reinforce our commitment to the Indian market with our investment plans of Rs. 800 crores over the next two years and are targeting to achieve total sales of 1 million units in 2013", he then added.

These two color schemes are priced at INR. 1,10,000 (Ex – Showroom Delhi) which is just marginally higher than the regular models and this small hike is worth every penny considering the attention which these 2 bikes will be able to get you.

So guys, are you all on your feet to run to the nearest showroom to get your hands on one of these bikes. On your Mark, Get, Set &Go!

New 1:1 Honda Dio Clay Model on Display at the Auto Expo 2012

Original Source: New 1:1 Honda Dio Clay Model on Display at the Auto Expo 2012 from BikeAdvice.in

With all the models and new launches there was one product at the Hondas hall which caught everyone with a definite jaw-drop. No it was not the magnanimous FireBlade or the other beauties. It was the 1:1 clay model of the recently launched Dio.

So real was the craftsmanship that when I passed by, I thought it is another color of the handsome Dio on display. Only after reading through the board and minute observation I could believe it was a clay work. There were a few tools actually kept (as you can see in the pics) which when rubbed produced chips of clay come out. Watch out the pics yourself to 'unbelieve' yourself!
